The first month of the new decade was met with a wide range of major releases. Here are a few of favorites:

The Circus, Mick Jenkins

The Circus is Mick Jenkins’ first project since his 2018 release, Pieces of a Man. This project comes in a 7 songs, just short of 20 minutes. The only feature coming from EARTHGANG. My Favorite songs are Flaunt and Carefree.

2020, Teejayx6

Teejayx6 is back with his scam raps, on this 4 track project. It’s a quick listen under 11 minutes. His entertaining story telling, unconventional delivery, and expertise in scamming will definitely keep your attention.

Circles, Mac Miller

Circles was revealed to be the second release of Companion album series that Miller was working on before his untimely passing, the first being Swimming. Jon Brion took the initiative to finish the project with Mac Miller in mind throughout the entire process. It’s an emotional listen to say the least. Thank you to the Miller family for letting us hear this wonderful music, and thank you to Brion for taking the lead on finishing the project. RIP Mac Miller.

Lyrics to GO Vol. 1, Kota the Friend

Kota the Friend returns since his highly rated 2019 album Foto with, Lyrics to GO Vol. 1. This was inspired by a Youtube series, where he spits short yet powerful, introspective verses on very smooth, lo-fi type beats that won’t put you to sleep. 10 songs that last a whopping 14 minutes and 31 seconds, but he doesn’t waste a second.

Funeral, Lil Wayne

The follow up too the long awaited Carter V, Lil Wayne gifts us Funeral. A 24 track album coming in at about 1 hour 15 minutes. It’s typical Wayne (No disrespect), and with that being said, if you weren’t a fan before, you probably won’t be a fan now. But on the flip, if you been fucking with him fir a while, you’ll enjoy this project. I would recommend it either way My favorite track changes by the hour, but as I write this it’s “I Don’t Sleep” ft. Takeoff. HE is definitely one of the better features off of the album.
